Happy Thanksgiving Day...

How did you spend your Thanksgiving day? Well... we spend the morning of our Thanksgiving day volunteering at Turkey Trot Anthem. We prepared some drinks for the runners and cheered them.

Then, in the afternoon, we went to visit our friend and have Thanksgiving dinner with her family.
She cooked Turkey and all the trimmings. I brought some veggies, fruits and appetizer.
Then we played games and eat pie, and play again, and much some more... That's the fun part.

The more serious part, I'm thankful for the family and friends, for the roof above my head, for the food, for the job, for the health, for the opportunity, for the freedom and for all the blessings.

Thank you to all the patrons of Bigib, LLC. It has been a pleasure to help you all.

Love letters... a new project

What should I do with love letters? Should I just save it in my drawer? in my photo album? or should I do something with it...

I'm still playing with my idea... I call it the love letter project.

I like the paper and the rip effect. So, I ripped the letter and added some new colorful papers...
Should I make a collage? a jewelry? an album cover? What do you think?

Please leave your feed back. Don't forget your email... If your idea is chosen, a price will be waiting for you...

Salvation bracelet inspired Rosary bracelet

One of a kind design...rosary bracelet inspired by Salvation bracelet.

Salvation bracelet is made of 6 colors to represent Christian journey. Black represents our sins, red represents Jesus blood, white represents the cleaning of sins, green represents eternal life in heaven, blue represents Holy Spirit within us and gold represents heaven.

Using those colors, I designed this Rosary bracelet. This bracelet is very special to me. My elementary school friend found me on the website and ordered the bracelet. Her request ... is to be as creative as I can. Me? Creative? Yes...! She's made my day...!

I swung by the bead store and started looking for interesting beads. I found colorful glass beads with many different textures and shape... just like I wanted.

I use wire wrap method to connect the beads. The colored beads is connected with wire loop. The white beads is connected with wrap loop which also gives the detail for the beads. Bali spacers and twisted closed rings also added to jazz up this bracelet.

I really like how it turned out. It's out of ordinary, it's different, it's special...!
Similar bracelet is available on my Etsy store. Great for mothers' day gift...

Wouldn't you agree?

I'm on Etsy Treasury...

Wow... I'm on Etsy Treasury...

For those who doesn't know what is Etsy Treasury, you can learn in detail here.

Basically, Etsy user can create list of items and put it in the "Treasury".

What is so special being in the Treasury...?
First, it's so hard to grab a Treasury. It is limited up to a certain number.
Then once he or she can "grab" it, he or she choose a theme. In this case, " Hip To Be Square".

Second, other person chooses your item. It is limited to only 12 items. Out of thousands of Etsian who makes square theme items, someone think my piece is so cool and is worth listing...

Wow... thank you... I'm speechless... I'm honored to be chosen in the treasury...

Hand stamped disc necklace for mothers and in-laws

It is exciting to have a returning customer.

First, it's because I feel he or she has become your friend.
Second, she knows what information I needed, thus a stream lined the process.
Last but not least, I know that I did a good job.

Mrs. L recently ordered a name necklace for her sister in law. She emailed me all the specification she wants for the necklace. She wants shiny finish, domed, with Swarovski crystal color aquamarine, no cross, with the names she wants hand stamped.

Making jewelry is a soothing/relaxing feelings for me. Amazingly, it's one of the activity I look forward to by the end of the day. I took the time to make every piece and I enjoy every process it takes. Best of all, I really like how it turned out. The aquamarine color looks dazzling with the shiny background.

And ooh..... it must be very lucky to be Mrs. L sister in law...

What do you think...?

Hand stamped necklace for couples.

When people talk about necklaces, they usually thinks it's only for girls. However, it's not always the case. With a different finish, I was able to create different look suitable for either.

Mr and Mrs. L ordered two hand stamped necklaces for them. I usually make name necklaces adorns with pearls or swarovski crystal . By taking the pearls out and using black cotton cord, the necklace would look more "neutral". This is just as what Mr. L would like to have for his necklace with brushed finish on his instead of shiny finish.

As Mrs. L, she like to have the sterling chain, adorned with pearls, slightly dome and shiny finish.

They both have the hand stamped necklaces they wanted but they each have their own characters. One is his.. one is hers...

Wouldn't you agree?

A longer name hand stamped necklace for Ms. B

How to fit a 26 characters (and spacers) names in a 1" hand stamped sterling disc necklace?
It's one of a challenging and fun project that I did last week.

Two ways in solving this project. One is using a smaller letter stamping that would fit all in one circle, or use regular size letter stamping in a spiral shape. I personally like the first one better. And lucky me, Ms. B who ordered this necklace also have the same idea.

Thank you for your order and enjoy the necklace Ms. B....

Bigib LLC Local Fair Schedule

Our youngest just turned one. It's one of those time where she's mobile and needs a lot of attention. For that reasons, I decided to stay put rather than going out for Art Shows as I have to haul the whole family with me for the show.

With that reason, I'll just do a couple shows this year.
1. I got accepted at Stonewood Village Art Fair in Brookfield, WI, on August 23-24, 2008.
2. I will be at MPTV holiday art fair, November 22-23, 2008
3. If the weather is nice, I will be at Brookfield Market and More on October 18.
4. Starting October, my piece also available at Purloin Studio, Menominee Falls.

In the mean time, please visit my Etsy store at http://bigib.etsy.com
Will keep you posted...

Brookfield Market and More

The weather forecast for a sunny day, high 76. What a gorgeous day to be outside.
Better of, being at Brookfield Market and More which happens once a month.

I started the day with a fresh baked chocolate muffin.
I have been doing this for about 3 years. My schedule depends on the family. As most of you probably know, we have a 19 months old. So, I'm focusing more on my online store rather than going out to the art fairs as I have haul the baby. This year, I plan to do 2 more shows.
Other than jewelry, I also sell "Bookmark in a card". Here's a picture of my bookmarks on a display while someone was admiring my jewelry

I'm not sure how many vendors on that day. I'm pretty sure, at least 40 vendors. It's a great place for people to buy craft and art items in addition to buying fresh produce. As for the vendor, it's also a great day to promote their business.

Fundraising idea for Non Profit Organizations.

A woman from La Leche League had a discussion with me about fund raising. She would like to sell Nursing Bracelets for her LLL as part of their fund raising program. I thought that's a great idea and I would like to participate.

I thought I should note this on my blog.

If you would like to purchase my pieces for fund raising or any other good cause project, please contact me. I would like to hear about it...

Big dipper, North Star pendant.

We like to watch the sky, especially during summer, where we lay down on the deck and try find constellation. Sometimes, we make up a new constellation.
Summer is not here yet, but we are so looking forward to it. Here's a new design.

It reminds me of the time when we try to find big dipper. I don't think we could see a cow jumped over the moon... but I believe we found the big dipper.

The pendant is made of sterling silver disc, reticulated, hammered and adorned with copper which arranged to look like a big dipper. Not to scale...
It comes with adjustable black cotton waxed cord.

NEW UPDATE... new necklace is just listed. Please click here for current listing.
